Electrical Wholesaling

What's this training all about?

It’s new, it’s here! The national qualification for the electrical wholesaling industry is now ready to be embraced by industry – so what are you waiting for?

The National Certificate in Electrical Equipment [Level 2] was developed by ETITO [the national standards setting body for the electrotechnology industry] in close consultation with the electrical wholesaling industry. It’s designed to reflect the variety of knowledge required to work in electrical wholesaling and is the first step on a future career pathway for the industry.

Trainees are given learning and assessment resources that detail the range of everyday tasks [in the form of unit standards] that they need to demonstrate competence in to achieve the qualification. When a trainee feels that they can show competence in these skills, they’re assessed on the job by a workplace assessor. Once the trainee has achieved all the unit standards they’re awarded the National Certificate in Electrical Equipment [Level 2].

Training for this qualification takes place in the workplace. The only time external training is required is to complete the first aid unit standard.
