All employers signing a training agreement with ETITO will need to ensure trainees meet the minimum eligibility for Tertiary Education Commission funding.
ETITO needs to ensure that:
- Trainees have an employment contract to cover the term of the training programme
- He/she is legally able to work and study in New Zealand.
ETITO will also require a verified copy of one of the following:
- New Zealand Passport
- New Zealand Birth Certificate
- New Zealand Citizenship Certificate
- Permanent New Zealand Residency Visa - to be supplied with a verified copy of current passport
- Work Visa with Variation of Conditions [must cover expected term of apprenticeship].
A copy of one of the above documents must be verified by either an ETITO staff member or ETITO authorised verifier, a Justice of the Peace or a Member of the New Zealand Police.
