The Standards and Qualification Systems [SQS] group is responsible for managing vocational literacy and numeracy, learning support and assessment resource development, ETITO’s qualification development and standard setting functions. This involves:

• Developing competency standards and qualifications in partnership with industry stakeholders, training providers, and NZQA.
• Supporting training providers and industry stakeholders with standards and qualifications.
• Building industry capability to meet literacy and numeracy needs of the workplace.
• Designing and producing relevant and useful learning and assessment resources. 
• Managing the national external moderation system as part or our national responsibility to ensure the consistency and validity of assessment for all standards within our coverage.  
• Providing advice on QA systems relevant to the delivery and assessment of ETITO developed qualifications.
