An evidence base is important for informing the design and delivery of ETITO's services.  We are committed to providing strategic leadership to our industries on matters relating to skills and training needs by:

• Identifying current and future skill needs
• Developing strategic training plans to assist the industry to meet those needs
• Promoting training that will meet those needs to employers and employees

The identification of future skill needs can be approached in different ways. At present, ETITO chooses to undertake sector-specific research that looks at how skills and knowledge are developed and used in the workplace and labour market. We then use this research to review the current training systems for that sector.

In doing this, ETITO aims to provide leadership for its sectors by developing training arrangements that meet the sector needs but also contribute to increased productivity.
