TransNet and ETITO giving new apprentices a helping hand
ETITO recently teamed up with TransNet NZ Ltd to do more for our apprentices. It’s a way for us to help new apprentices get some tools to start them on their way, and it’s also a way for us to help them complete their online literacy and numeracy assessment at the beginning of their training!
Upon completing their assessment [which all new apprentices must do], they will receive a visit from their ETITO training manager who will deliver the ETITO-TransNet package. It contains a non-voltage detector, work gloves, and other goodies that apprentices will find useful – all in a handy sports bag.
The package is part of ETITO’s ongoing efforts to find ways to do more for our apprentices and training companies, through partnership with companies who are good industry citizens and have an active interest in supporting apprenticeship training.
Spencer Winn, Managing Director of TransNet says the decision to support new apprentices was an easy one. “I used to be an apprentice myself, and I know that finding the money for that first set of tools can be hard. TransNet works across the industry in New Zealand and we have a deep interest in supporting it as much as we can. That’s why we’ve always supported the ECANZ Challenge, and that’s why we’re pleased to be able to support ETITO here.”
